As most of you know Palm Bay Chevrolet and Jim Rathmann Chevrolet have closed their doors after many years of providing Chevrolets to Brevard County and Space Coast Areas. The Rosner Auto Group are the current owners of Melbourne Chevrolet formally known at Jim Rathmann Chevrolet. Rosner Auto Group (Melbourne Chevrolet) has made a commitment to the former owners to provide a level of service they know and expect. Or as we say "the place to do business". Our hearts go out to the Rathmanns for their many years of providing Chevrolets to generations of families within the area, and they know that we will do all that is necessary to provide the best Sales & Service available.

Melbourne Chevrolet-Things to Consider when purchasing an automobile
Today I would like to discuss "things to consider when purchasing an automobile."
In today's tough economy, with the housing crisis, oil approaching $100 a barrel, an election year, and so much going on in the world, one must understand that the Auto Industry as a whole has taken a big hit. Auto sales in every segment are at an all time low, manufacturers are cutting back production, dealers are stocking less new vehicles, cutting personnel in an effort to maintain expenses. All these things are a sign of the times. No longer do we see a customer come in to purchase a new vehicle just because they feel it's time. People are keeping their vehicles longer and only purchasing out of necessity. All of these factors are on-going concerns for car dealers and manufacturers as well.
Consider this, a dealer has to stock so many vehicles everyday in order to have a selection that fits every customers budget and needs. These dealers have to purchase the vehicle from the manufacturer and pay interest to a bank each month on every vehicle. Now consider most dealers stock on average 3-5 MILLION in new vehicles. This is a huge amount, and every month a vehicle sits on the lot, it cost the dealer about $260. That might not sound like alot of money but consider they have 200 plus vehicles in stock. So turn around time for each vehicle is critical. Or look at it this way, a dealership is going to do everything they can to sell a vehicle no matter what in order to avoid paying that cost every month on that vehicle.
The upside for the consumer who is looking to purchase a new vehicle is, you're in the drivers seat. The dealer needs to move the vehicle, the manufacturer needs the dealer to sell it, so they can sell the dealer another one, and you the customer benefit because the Dealer and the Manufacturer are going to offer discounts and rebates to help make the numbers work. You must understand that when you walk in the door @ Melbourne Chevrolet, we have the tools necessary to make any vehicle we have in stock available to you at the lowest price ever.
And remember the vehicle you are looking at is costing us money each month to sit in the parking lot waiting for you to come in.
How to use this to your advantage, first of all if you're looking to purchase a new or pre-owned vehicle, you owe it to yourself to visit our store. Why? It's simple - we are a new store with big ambitions. We have huge support from General Motors to move new vehicles that we in turn can offer you. Thus making this the best time ever to purchase a New Chevrolet from us.
There are huge rebates out there and low interest such as 0% for 60 months (5yrs). But consider with 0% you give up all the incentives from General Motors and pay a higher price for the vehicle but pay no interest. How can this work against you. Let's look at an example of 0% vs a $5,000 rebate on a $25,000 vehicle financed for 60 months (5yrs)
Example 1
Price of vehicle $25,000
Interest (0%)
Term (60mos)
Payment $ 416.00
Example 2
Price of vehicle $25,000
Cash Rebate $ 5,000
Net Price $20,000
Interest (7%)
Term (60mos)
Payment $ 396.00
So here are two examples: 0% versus 7% one with no rebates one with. Take a look at the payment difference, its a no brainier. Paying interest on a vehicle is not a bad thing consider the following:
- Paid $5000 less for vehicle vs 0% interest
- Payment is $20 less per month for 60mos vs 0% interest
- The Rebate acted as your cash down thus no money down
- You own the vehicle for $5000 less than you would have at 0%
- Your payments were $1,200 less over the term of the loan vs 0%
- You paid less sales tax because the purchase price was $5,000 less
That is a perfect example of what is available to you at a time when dealers and the manufacturers need to sell vehicles. It's all in your favor. So consider the following when purchasing a vehicle and why you should come and visit us at Melbourne Chevrolet.

Chevrolet Melbourne-2008 New Year/New Innovations
This blog is for all the current & potential customers within Brevard County Florida area.
Melbourne Chevrolet promises for 2008 to be bigger, better and stronger in all we do.
We are a new company in a new market, we consider ourselves the "place to do business" We have paved huge in roads in the last 5 months since purchasing this store from the Rathmann Family, the former owners of both Jim Rathmann Chevrolet and Palm Bay Chevrolet. As I mentioned before when we aquired the Melbourne Chevrolet store it was in a state of disaster, we quickly changed that, and today we are on the road to being Bigger, Better and Stronger every day.
